Job summary

ABB Oy High Power division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki, seeks a Verification Lead to drive the verification and approval process for frequency converters in our R&D projects. You will oversee verification measurements and contribute to tests for unreleased high-power drives in world-class laboratories.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Verification Lead at ABB Oy, High Power division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. You will have a key role in the verification and approval process of frequency converters developed in our R&D projects. Our team is responsible for verification measurements of new frequency converter series. We perform R&D and type tests for unreleased high-power drives in our world-class R&D laboratories.

• Managing verification activities in internal and external laboratories in R&D projects
• Planning and executing R&D and type tests for new frequency converter series
• Supporting problem solving of frequency converter hardware and software related issues
• Working in close co-operation with different design teams, approval engineers and authorities located in different countries

Qualifications for the role

• Proven experience in designing or testing frequency converters, and understanding their product safety standards
• Knowledge of any of the following are considered an advantage: ABB converters, requirements for the competence of testing laboratories, project management
• You are keen on training and coaching internal colleagues
• You are fluent in Finnish and English, both written and spoken
• Willingness for occasional travel. Estimation is 1-3 weeks per year to internal and external laboratories located in Finland and Europe
• A proactive working mindset
• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
