Job summary

ABB Oy's High Power division in Helsinki seeks a Senior Verification Engineer to join the team. You will perform R&D and type tests on frequency converters, build test setups, and work closely with design teams and authorities to verify hardware and software performance.

The role requires a Master or Bachelor in Electrical Engineering, experience with frequency converters, EMC testing, and PLCs, with Finnish and English language skills and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Experience in testing of frequency converters or related systems.
• Knowledge of frequency converter design and control, PLCs and process automation, EMC testing.

Your role and responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Verification Engineer to join our team at ABB Oy, High Power division in Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. Our team is responsible for verification of new frequency converters. We perform R&D and type tests for unreleased high-power, low and medium voltage drives in our world-class R&D laboratories.

The work model for the role is: On-site

• Executing R&D and type tests for new frequency converters
• Building test setups, executing and reporting tests
• Supporting problem solving of frequency converter hardware and software related issues
• Working in close co-operation with different design teams, approval engineers and authorities

Your background

• M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering
• Proven experience in the testing of frequency converters, electrical installation, commissioning or industrial automation systems
• Knowledge of any of the following is considered an advantage: Frequency converter design and control
• PLCs and process automation
• EMC testing
• Product safety standards of frequency converters
• Capability and interest in training and coaching other people
• Good spoken and written skills in Finnish and English are necessary in this role
• Willingness for occasional travelling
• A proactive working attitude
