Job summary

Lokki Henkilöstöpalvelut Oy is seeking an experienced Lead Developer to own the development, validation and governance of transaction monitoring models within a Financial Crime Prevention / AML function for a major Nordic banking client.

The role blends deep model risk expertise with hands-on analysis, driving governance activities, mentoring the analytics team, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across the Nordic region.

Qualifications

• Experience in model risk management and governance.
• Strong background in data science, statistics and quantitative methods.
• Academic writing experience in model documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own development and validation of transaction monitoring models, with focus on documentation, review and governance.
• Drive model governance activities within TMU, including validation assessments and 2nd line feedback implementation.
• Set and execute direction for model development and experimental design, balancing rigor with practicality.
• Document model design and outcomes, iterating with analytics to ensure accuracy and clarity of assumptions, limitations and weaknesses.
• Provide hands-on support for prototyping tests and analytical methodologies.
• Mentor and uplift analytics team to design, test, and implement model SOPs (data lineage/governance, tuning/calibration, monitoring).
• Represent the organization professionally with stakeholders inside and outside the company.
