Job summary

Mercor seeks a native Telugu speaker to annotate and transcribe Telugu documents, binding meaningful regions, determining reading order, and recording metadata for training data. You will locate publicly accessible Telugu PDFs with multimodal content and mark each region accurately.

You must maintain character-level accuracy, apply a consistent taxonomy, and be comfortable with complex layouts, including handwritten forms and dense multi-column pages, for flawless downstream usage.

Qualifications

• Native Telugu speaker with full script command; exact character level accuracy required.
• Experience annotating and transcribing documents; localization or proofreading background helps.
• Apply a consistent taxonomy across hundreds of pages; systematic approach required.
• Comfortable with unfamiliar layouts: multi-column, handwritten forms, mixed scripts.

Responsibilities

• Source Telugu PDFs with at least one multimodal element and record source.
• Annotate page structure: bound regions, type, and reading order indices.
• Link regions to parent figures/tables as appropriate.
• Transcribe faithfully in Telugu script; flag illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and handwriting flags.
• Review colleague work; pass second-expert review on first attempt.
