Job summary

Mercor seeks native Gujarati speakers for a document annotation project. You will transcribe and structure Gujarati documents, identify regions, reading order, and relationships, ensuring character-level accuracy in handwritten and printed text.

Work involves handling complex layouts, multi-column pages, and diverse document types. You will be reviewed by a second Gujarati expert to ensure high quality, with emphasis on exact script and orthography.

Qualifications

• You are a native Gujarati speaker with full command of Gujarati script, its diacritics and conjunct forms.
• You have worked with documents: annotation, transcription, localization, proofreading, or data review.
• Character-level accuracy matters; a single diacritic mistake is a defect.

Responsibilities

• Source publicly accessible Gujarati PDFs containing multimodal elements and record their source.
• Annotate page structure: bound every meaningful region with a type and reading-order index.
• Record relationships by linking regions to their parent figures/tables.
• Transcribe faithfully, preserving Gujarati script exactly; flag illegible regions.
