Job summary

Mercor is seeking a native Malayalam speaker in Helsinki for a meticulous document annotation role. You will transcribe and annotate Malayalam PDFs, identify and bound page regions, and ensure correct reading order across complex layouts.

You will work with publicly accessible documents, mark illegible areas, and maintain character-level accuracy through a collaborative review with Malayalam experts.

Qualifications

• Native Malayalam speaker with full command of script and diacritics.
• Experience in annotation, transcription, localization, or QA for documents.
• Excellent accuracy and systematic taxonomy application across pages.

Responsibilities

• Source Malayalam PDFs and annotate their structure, binding regions clearly.
• Identify and bound page regions (title, headings, paragraphs, tables, figures).
• Record reading-order indices and link regions to parent components.
• Transcribe faithfully in Malayalam script, flag unreadable content.
• Capture page metadata and participate in peer reviews by Malayalam experts.
