Job summary

Billerud Finland Oy seeks a Technical Service Manager for Pulp & Paper to own customer technical matters and drive structured problem solving. You will collaborate across Sales, Production and Logistics to ensure product performance and customer satisfaction.

You will lead technical investigations, communicate clearly in English and Finnish, and travel occasionally to customer sites and mills. A technical engineering degree and relevant industry experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to lead technical dialogues with customers in a structured manner.
  • Strong written and spoken English; Finnish language skills are necessary.
  • Experience in technical, production or customer-facing roles within manufacturing or process industry.

Responsibilities

  • Own technical customer matters and coordinate internal expertise.
  • Lead technical investigations with root cause and gap analyses.
  • Be the customer’s technical contact and align with Sales, Production and Logistics.
  • Support claims handling and credit note processes while managing expectations.
  • Build strong customer relationships and represent long-term interests of the company.
  • Travel occasionally to customer sites and mills as needed.

Technical Service Manager - Pulp & Paper

We are now looking for a Technical Service Manager – Pulp & Paper

You will be part of our Technical Service organization, working closely with several of our sales teams and mills. The team supports customers globally by ensuring strong technical performance, professional customer dialogue and seamless collaboration between customers, sales and our production sites.

As a Technical Service Manager, you will act as the technical interface between Billerud and our customers. Your role is to take ownership of technical customer matters, ensure structured problem solving and represent the customer’s voice internally – always with Billerud’s long term interests and product performance in focus.

Your main tasks will be:

  • Managing technical customer issues related to pulp and several paper and kraft grades, from initial dialogue to resolution
  • Leading technical investigations, including root cause analysis and gap analysis
  • Acting as the customer’s technical contact and coordinating internal expertise when needed
  • Collaborating closely with Sales, Production, Product Management and Logistics
  • Supporting claims handling and credit note processes
  • Building strong customer relationships while setting clear expectations and professional boundaries

This is a permanent position, placed in Finland at our Pietarsaari mill. Occasional travel will occur.

Qualifications

To succeed in this position, we arelooking for:

  • University degree in engineering or similar technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience from a technical, production or customer facing role within manufacturing or process industry
  • Documented experience in leading technical dialogues with customers in a structured and confident manner
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Finnish, both written and spoken

Meritorious:

  • Understanding of production processes and quality parameters
  • Previous knowledge from the paper or packaging industry
  • Previous knowledge and experience within hygiene and/or medical applications
