Job summary

UPM Kouvola's Kymi Pulp Mill is seeking a Production Manager to lead pulp production operations, driving safety, performance and people development. You will manage daily operations, coach the team and collaborate with maintenance and quality functions to ensure stable, compliant production.

You have strong leadership experience in process industries, a solid understanding of continuous processes and a track record of driving performance and EHS excellence while aligning with mill strategy.

• Ensure compliance with EHS, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with maintenance, technical, reliability and mill functions.

What you will do

• Lead and develop pulp production operations with strong focus on safety, performance and people
• Lead daily pulp production operations and ensure safe, efficient and stable performance
• Develop production performance, cost efficiency and operational flexibility
• Lead, coach and develop production organization and line management
• Drive continuous improvement, problem‑solving and root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with EHS, quality and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, technical, reliability and mill functions
• Contribute to mill strategy execution and long‑term development
• Act as a role model in safety leadership and UPM ways of working

Who you are

• You have strong leadership experience from industrial production or process industry
• You have solid understanding of pulp mill or other continuous process operations
• You have proven capability to drive performance, change and continuous improvement
• You have strong safety mindset and experience in leading EHS performance
• You are analytical and fact‑based decision‑maker with business‑oriented thinking
• You have excellent people leadership and collaboration skills
• You have experience in working with KPIs, targets and operational governance
• You are fluent in English and Finnish skills are required
