Job summary

Stora Enso in Oulu, Finland, is seeking a Business Unit Controller to provide senior financial leadership for the Oulu Business Unit during an important phase of operational and organisational development.

You will lead the local business-controlling team, partner with the BU Head, drive forward-looking analysis, performance insight and value creation, while strengthening financial governance across production, capital expenditure and working capital.

Qualifications

Strong understanding of how operational drivers affect financial results.
Proven leadership capability and lean team development.
Commercial and analytical mindset for strategic and operational work.
Resilient, pragmatic, accountable and capable of challenging senior stakeholders.
Experience with ERP, FP&A, reporting and BI, plus automation/AI for decision support.
University degree and substantial experience in business controlling or site finance.

Responsibilities

Lead the Oulu business-controlling team and develop clear, collaborative ways of working.
Partner with the BU Head on planning, profitability, investments and priorities.
Establish performance management across volumes, costs, margins and working capital.
Support ramp-up of production lines with scenario analysis and risk/opportunity alerts.
Align with stakeholders to challenge decisions and optimize value creation.
Translate production and commercial performance into actionable financial insights.
Provide sound governance across operations, including cost allocations.
Develop reporting, planning and controlling with data, automation and AI tools.
Act as a constructive challenger to senior leadership with robust analysis.
