Job summary

SEB is seeking an experienced cloud/platform engineer to shape and operate the Google Cloud platform. You will work closely with developers, writing code and automating deployments across landing zones and underlying services.

You’ll collaborate on CI/CD, security, and governance, while adapting to Google releases and bank requirements. This hybrid role offers a hands-on environment with learning and growth opportunities across Nordic platforms.

Qualifications

• Several years of development or platform engineering in public cloud specifically for GCP.
• Hands-on with Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD in tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Scripting and development in Python is a must, Go, PowerShell or Bash is meriting.
• Solid understanding of identity and access management, observability, networking and security in the cloud.
• Agile ways of working in a team with a shared backlog.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain landing zones and underlying capabilities in SEB’s Google Cloud platform with the team.
• Design and implement complex changes from proposal through code and testing to production.
• Automate deliveries; everything is built as code and released through pipelines.
• Build and improve CI/CD flows, and introduce best practices where missing.
• Drive product lifecycle management to match Google releases and bank requirements.
• Support performance, security and stability of the platform, fix root causes, not symptoms.

Job description

Join Cloud Foundations and help build the cloud platform the rest of the bank develops on. You will develop the landing zones, guardrails and underlying capabilities that let SEB’s developers move fast without compromising on stability, security or compliance.

This is a hands‑on engineering role. You design, code and automate together with the team, close to the developers who use what we build. Google Cloud is your platform, from the foundations of the landing zone to the services teams consume every day.

What you will be doing

• Develop and maintain our landing zones and underlying capabilities in SEB’s Google Cloud platform together with the team.
• Design and implement complex changes independently, from solution proposal through code and testing to production.
• Automate what we deliver. Everything is built as code and released through our pipelines.
• Build and improve our CI/CD flows, and introduce the practices where they are missing.
• Drive product lifecycle management so we keep pace with Google’s releases and with the bank’s requirements.
• Work on the performance, security and stability of the platform, and fix root causes rather than symptoms.
• Advise architects and development teams using the platform, and make it easy for them to do the right thing.
• Take part in troubleshooting and incident handling in our cloud environments.
• Review code, coach colleagues and contribute to how the team works.

Skills and experience

• Several years of development or platform engineering in public cloud Specifically for GCP. Experience in another cloud provider is meriting.
• Hands‑on with Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD in tools such as Terraform and GitHub Actions.
• Scripting and development in Python is a must, Go, PowerShell or Bash is meriting.
• Solid understanding of identity and access management, observability , networking and security in the cloud.
• Agile ways of working in a team with a shared backlog.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Nice to have

• Kubernetes/GKE, policy as code or self‑service platforms consumed directly by developers.
• Experience in financial services or another regulated industry.
• Certifications in Google Cloud, such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer.
