Songtradr Helsinki is building a brand-new engineering hub to power our platform at scale. You’ll join early teams delivering reliable backend services across Bandcamp and other products, while shaping the engineering culture of our Finland presence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software.

Help build the platform behind the music industry

Songtradr is the world's largest B2B music technology company, providing end-to-end solutions across music licensing, rights management and direct-to-fan experiences. Through businesses including MassiveMusic and Bandcamp, Songtradr empowers music creators and enables global brands to connect with audiences through the power of music.

Behind this is a global platform operating at significant scale. Our systems process billions of requests every month, creating complex engineering challenges across backend services, distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.

Now we're bringing that engineering to Finland.

We're building a brand-new Center of Excellence in Helsinki, creating a rare opportunity to join one of its first engineering teams. You'll work across multiple products and platforms within the Songtradr portfolio – from enterprise music solutions to Bandcamp, one of the world's largest marketplaces for independent artists – while helping shape the ways of working and engineering culture of our new Helsinki organisation.

The role

You'll join one of the first engineering teams in our new Helsinki hub, building reliable backend services and platform capabilities that power products used by millions of people around the world.

Working closely with engineers, architects and product teams across our global engineering organisation, you'll design, build and operate cloud-native systems at scale. From distributed systems and platform reliability to new backend services and technical design, you'll help solve a wide variety of engineering challenges.

We're looking for curious engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, learning continuously and building software that lasts. AI is becoming an increasingly important part of how we work, and we're actively exploring how it can help us build, test and deliver better software. We expect our engineers to embrace this shift, experiment with new tools and continuously evolve the way they work.

Our stack continues to evolve as we grow, but today you'll work with technologies such as:

• Node.js (TypeScript)
• AWS & GCP
• REST APIs, Microservices & Event-driven architectures
• Distributed Systems
• SQL, NoSQL & S3

What we're looking for

We don't expect you to tick every box.

We're much more interested in strong engineering fundamentals than experience with every technology in our stack.

We're looking for engineers with broad technical foundations who enjoy learning, collaborating and solving problems across different parts of the platform. If you're comfortable picking up new technologies and thinking beyond your own service, you'll feel right at home here.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• 5+ years building and operating production software
• Experience building cloud-native backend systems
• Experience designing APIs and distributed systems
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases
• Comfortable working in Linux environments and with Docker
• A strong quality mindset and experience building reliable, maintainable software
• Curiosity to learn new technologies and solve problems across different parts of the platform
• Hands-on experience with AI-assistant development and a genuine interest in exploring how AI can improve the way software is designed, built and delivered
• Comfortable collaborating in an English-speaking engineering organisation.
