Job summary

Punta is seeking a Software Architect to lead the architecture of the Smart Locker platform, spanning embedded devices to cloud services. You will collaborate with embedded, backend and frontend teams to design secure, scalable architecture for cross-domain systems and multi-tenant scenarios.

The role emphasizes ownership of architecture decisions, ADRs, and a pragmatic, hands-on approach in a growing Finnish company with international aspirations. Helsinki-based with a flexible hybrid model.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in software architecture spanning embedded systems and cloud platforms.
• Strong ability to read unfamiliar code and document architecture clearly.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical projects across embedded, backend and infra teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and document end-to-end system architecture from embedded devices to cloud services.
• Define device-to-cloud communication, security and device identity for 32-bit microcontroller products.
• Own infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD architecture across Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes and GitHub Actions.
• Lead code reviews and set technical quality standards across embedded (C/C++) and backend (Python).
• Evaluate architecture trade-offs and communicate cost and risk implications to the business.
• Document recurring questions and separate implementation vs. architecture decisions.
