The Role

As a Software Architect, you will be responsible for designing and evolving complex systems built on Python and AWS. You'll work closely with engineering teams, product leaders, and stakeholders to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business goals.

The position is based in Tampere with a hybrid working model. Candidates located in Helsinki are also encouraged to apply, with flexible remote working available alongside regular team collaboration days.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive software architecture across multiple products and services.
• Design scalable, cloud-native solutions using AWS technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
• Drive improvements in system reliability, security, performance, and scalability.
• Support cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.
• Contribute to long-term technology strategy and roadmaps.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working as a Software Architect or Lead Software Engineer.
• Strong background in Python development.
• Hands-on experience designing solutions within AWS environments.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems architecture.
• Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred).
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with serverless technologies.
• Data, AI, or Machine Learning platform knowledge.
• Experience within highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments.
• Previous experience leading architectural transformation projects.
