Job summary

AlphaSense, Inc. is seeking a Principal Engineer for Mobile Platform & Backend Systems, based in Helsinki. You will shape backend systems powering AI-driven workflows, collaborating with mobile, search, and AI teams to advance cross-platform product capabilities.

You will lead the design and delivery of scalable services, ensuring reliability, security, and performance while mentoring engineers and driving architectural investments in a distributed environment.

Qualifications

• Deep production backend and distributed-systems expertise with ownership of service boundaries.
• Experience designing client-facing REST/GraphQL APIs with considerations for mobile and web apps.
• Strong authentication, authorization and session-management knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Shape backend systems to support mobile and web product experiences.
• Lead cross-team collaboration across engineering and product to set architectural priorities.
• Deliver production-grade services and prove solutions in production with reusable patterns.
• Partner with identity/platform teams to evolve authentication and access controls.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen teams through coaching and hands-on delivery.
