Job summary

Helsinki Proteomics Center seeks a Scientist / Senior Scientist to advance mass spectrometry-based proteome research at the Viikki Proteomics Unit. This hands-on core-facility role focuses on delivering reliable services, supporting users, and developing methods for HPC.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree (Ph.D. preferred), 2+ years in proteomics, a strong protein-chemistry background, and experience with MS data-analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a life science discipline or related field.
• 2+ years of research experience in proteomics or related technologies.
• Strong background in protein chemistry.
• Experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate high-resolution LC-MS/MS systems and ensure reliable instrument performance.
• Prepare samples using validated facility protocols for analyses.
• Maintain records of instrument usage, downtime, and experimental procedures.
• Collaborate with HPC colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality results.
• Advise users on experimental design, required samples, and expected outcomes.
