Job summary

The Viikki Proteomics Unit at the University of Helsinki is seeking a Scientist/Senior Scientist to deliver reliable proteomics services and support researchers. This hands-on role focuses on assay development, instrument operation, data analysis, and method standardization across HPC services.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in proteomics, strong protein chemistry knowledge, and proficiency with MS data analysis tools.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or a related life science.
• 2+ years of proteomics research experience.
• Strong background in protein chemistry.
• Experience in mass spectrometry-based proteomics is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with MS data analysis software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize proteomics methods and workflows for core services.
• Operate day-to-day high-resolution LC-MS/MS instrumentation and sample prep.
• Support facility users with experimental design and data interpretation.
• Maintain records of instrument use, maintenance, and procedures.
