Job summary

Sandvik is seeking a Senior Power Unit Engineer for our Turku site to lead power unit systems for underground mining machinery. You will own system definitions, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure emissions and safety requirements are met in demanding environments.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, technology roadmaps, and mentoring engineers, with occasional travel and the option for partial remote work.

Qualifications

• Experience in power unit, engine or powertrain engineering for mobile equipment.
• Strong system-level understanding of internal combustion engines and integration into demanding environments.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Own the power unit system definition, technical architecture and overall technical responsibility across product lifecycle.
• Develop power unit solutions with suppliers, ensuring performance, emissions compliance, safety and reliability underground.
• Lead validation, testing and issue resolution to drive continuous product improvements with data-driven methods.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines, suppliers and customers, including travel to customer sites for insights and investigations.
• Mentor engineers through technical reviews and guidance to advance team capability.
