Job summary

Sandvik in Tampere, Finland is seeking a self-driven R&D Product Safety Engineer to join BU Automation and support the AutoMine product family. You will focus on functional safety and product safety in automation development, working with R&D teams and customer projects to make safety requirements practical and verifiable.

You will help interpret and apply machinery safety regulations and emerging EU rules, including the Cyber Resilience Act, and collaborate with the Product Compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering; solid technical background.
• Experience or motivation in functional safety, product safety, automation or machinery safety.
• Knowledge of CE marking and EU regulations, including Cyber Resilience Act, is a plus.
• Ability to work across functions; document safety evidence and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support risk assessments, safety concepts, safety documentation and verification.
• Provide safety concepts and verification evidence for product development and customer projects.
• Learn and apply functional safety standards and machinery safety regulations to products.
• Collaborate with Product Compliance on cybersecurity, sustainability and regulatory requirements.
