Job summary

ICEYE Oy is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to own and evolve a secure, scalable Kubernetes foundation across cloud and on‑prem environments. You will lead the design, operation, and automation of platform capabilities, enabling product teams to ship faster with stronger reliability.

You will contribute hands‑on and provide architectural guidance while mentoring engineers and shaping platform standards across teams.

Qualifications

8+ years in Platform Engineering, SRE, DevOps, or similar roles at scale.
Hands-on Kubernetes: cluster architecture, upgrades, networking, security.
Strong AWS fundamentals: networking, IAM, compute, storage, security.
Terraform and IaC with reusable modules and scalable provisioning.
Observability: SLO/SLI design, instrumentation, dashboards, alerts.
Proficiency in Python or Go for automation and tooling.
Leadership through platform standards and architectural guidance.
Ability to make pragmatic decisions in complex environments.

Responsibilities

Design, operate, and improve a secure, scalable Kubernetes platform across cloud and on‑prem.
Build and maintain ingress, service mesh, secrets management, and lifecycle automation.
Develop Terraform modules for AWS and on‑prem to enable auditable provisioning.
Strengthen observability with metrics, logs, traces, dashboards and alerts.
Reduce platform friction by providing guidance and hands‑on enablement to teams.
Automate lifecycle management: bootstrap, upgrades, scaling, maintenance.
Set technical direction and make trade‑offs across reliability, security, speed, maintainability.
Mentor others and raise engineering maturity with shared standards.
