Job summary

Reaktor’s Defence & Security Business Unit in Helsinki seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to design, build and operate on‑premise and private cloud platforms that support critical products and clients’ business needs.

You will work in a hybrid consulting/productisation mix, translating complex infrastructure into reliable platforms. Expect hands-on engineering, collaboration, and technical decision‑making with emphasis on security and scalability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in platform/infra/DevOps roles.
• 8+ years of experience common in this domain.
• Strong on-premise infrastructure expertise including virtualization, networking, and IAM.
• Experience with IaC/configuration tools for bare-metal/private clouds (Terraform/Ansible/SaltStack/Puppet).
• Scripting skills (Python/Bash/PowerShell) for automation.
• Solid knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift and container orchestration.
• Experience implementing security best practices in regulated, air-gapped environments.
• Fluency in Finnish and English (written & spoken).
• Willingness to work 100% on-site.
• Finnish citizenship due to client/security regulations.

Responsibilities

• Designing, building, and operating on-prem and private cloud environments.
• Ensure security, isolation, and compliance are integrated into infrastructure.
• Create scalable, resilient infrastructure to meet demand on physical hardware and virtualization layers.
• Automate routine tasks to free engineers for higher-value work.
• Promote standardisation through tools, processes, and configurations.
• Collaborate with product teams and stakeholders to tailor infrastructure to needs.
• Support Defence & Security unit with infrastructure expertise for sales/proposals.
