Job summary

Optimus Search Limited is seeking a Senior Planner (Primavera P6) for a freelance role in Helsinki, Finland. You will join a project controls team supporting a metals & minerals mega-project on a client-side PMC basis, with an emphasis on schedule development and reporting.

The role requires senior planning expertise on major projects, strong stakeholder engagement, and fluent English. Onsite work is preferred, with a contract through summer 2027 and an all-inclusive day or hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Senior planning experience on large industrial or engineering projects.
• Client-side or PMC experience is a strong advantage.
• Metals & Minerals experience is a plus, but other major engineering projects are welcome.
• Fluent English (Finnish not required).

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and report on project schedules in Primavera P6.
• Support planning and project controls through the engineering phase.
• Work closely with engineering, project management and client stakeholders.
• Track progress, analyse critical path and report schedule risk.

Senior Planner (Primavera P6) – Freelance – Helsinki, Finland

Optimus Search is supporting an engineering consultancy acting as Project Management Consultant (PMC) on a major Metals & Minerals mega-project for a large international client. Following the award of an additional project section, they need an experienced Senior Planner to join the project controls team as soon as possible.

The project

• Heavy industrial Metals & Minerals mega-project, currently in final engineering / FEED
• Client-side PMC role, working directly for the end client
• Investment decision expected after engineering, with execution potentially starting late 2027

• Support planning and project controls through the engineering phase
• Work closely with engineering, project management and client stakeholders
• Track progress, analyse critical path and report schedule risk

What you’ll bring

• Senior planning experience on large industrial or engineering projects

• Fluent English (Finnish not required)
• Location: Helsinki (client office)
• Onsite: 5 days preferred, 4 days may be possible
