Job summary

Fortum is seeking a Senior Specialist for Master Data Management in Espoo, Finland. The role blends business and IT to structure, govern, and utilize master data across systems, driving scalable, sustainable MDM solutions with strong data quality and governance.

You will lead MDM direction, contribute hands-on where needed, and collaborate with data owners and stewards to ensure consistent data across processes. Hybrid work is offered with regular office presence in Espoo.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data management.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with Semarchy xDM or similar MDM tools.
• Manage and improve tag mappings, data mappings, and business rules.
• Strong data modelling and SQL skills.
• Experience in data governance and data quality concepts.
• Ability to lead workshops and advise stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to Hydro's MDM technical direction and implementation standards.
• Develop and enhance MDM solutions in Semarchy (or similar tools).
• Maintain and improve tag mappings, data models, and business rules to ensure data quality.
• Support integrations and data alignment across internal systems and platforms.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and support data ownership.
• Support incident resolution, platform upgrades, and continuous improvement activities related to MDM solutions.
