Job summary

Fiskars Group seeks a Senior Industrial Designer to join our R&D team in Espoo or Billnäs. You will lead design efforts from concept through launch, translating consumer insights into commercially compelling concepts and delivering a high-quality consumer experience.

You will collaborate with engineers, product managers, packaging designers and manufacturing partners to shape form, ergonomics, materials, and finishes while pursuing sustainable design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Design or equivalent.
• Several years of professional experience in industrial design and consumer product development.
• Proven ability to translate insights into innovative and commercially successful design solutions.
• Strong capability in concept generation, storytelling, visual communication, and design strategy.
• Curious, creative mindset with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Solid experience of prototyping tools and methods.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and product development constraints.
• Knowledge of sustainability principles and circular design approaches is considered an advantage.
• Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrial design activities across new product development projects, from early exploration and concept creation through production and launch.
• Turn consumer insights, emerging trends, and business opportunities into distinctive and commercially relevant product concepts.
• Define product form, ergonomics, usability, color, materials, and finishes in line with the Fiskars brand experience.
• Create sketches, visualizations, prototypes, appearance models, and specifications that clearly communicate design intent.
• Partner with engineering, product management, packaging, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to deliver feasible, manufacturable, and consumer-centered solutions.
• Present concepts and design recommendations to project teams, stakeholders, and senior leaders, using clear storytelling and design rationale.
• Identify opportunities in materials, sustainability, technology, and consumer behavior that can inform future innovation and the evolution of Fiskars’ design language.
