Senior Construction Project Leader

Job summary

Mercury is seeking an experienced Project Director to lead complex construction projects in Helsinki, with project values from €100m to €500m. You will build and manage the project team, interface with clients, and ensure safe, on‑time, on‑budget delivery.

Reporting to BU Management and Operations Director, you will set direction, drive QAHS processes, and coordinate design, procurement and execution to meet milestones and quality standards across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or recognised trade qualification.
• 10+ years’ experience managing large construction projects as a General Contractor.
• Thorough knowledge of Civil, Structural and Architectural packages.
• Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
• Ability to efficiently manage a team by setting expectations, delegation, and review.
• Strong communication & computer skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and chair meetings with your team, the Design team and the Client.
• Lead weekly project audits and address open items with your team.
• Ensure QEHS compliance and follow Mercury procedures.
• Coordinate with client, design, procurement and site teams to meet milestones.
• Review weekly progress and ensure the project remains on track.
