Electrical Construction Manager, Helsinki
In this role you will coordinate and manage all electrical work packages on site, working closely with other trades to ensure safety, quality and cost controls are met. You will be responsible for planning activities, supervising the on‑site engineering team, controlling project schedule, managing subcontractor performance, and maintaining project documentation and change control.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee all electrical site activities in collaboration with other trades.
- Manage site safety, including setup, management, and closure of safety files in partnership with the Mercury Safety Advisor.
- Lead site QA procedures in coordination with the Project Manager, including setup of TIDPs and QPI’s.
- Plan site activities according to production control requirements (Visilean).
- Drive the project schedule in conjunction with planners, project managers, subcontractors and design teams.
- Control all project costs with support from the QS, including labour, material, plant and equipment, variations and valuations.
- Manage day‑to‑day site operations and direct the Mercury Engineering project team.
- Track subcontractor progress against schedule and manpower requirements and conduct weekly minutes meetings.
- Oversee the Mercury “In Progress” snagging system and ensure supervisors submit weekly punch lists.
- Oversee room permit process and ensure site contractors comply with requirements.
- Maintain up‑to‑date safety documentation for all subcontractors.
- Promote Mercury Engineering’s culture of safety and quality throughout the project.
- Provide safety and quality leadership across all Mercury projects.
- Review weekly progress reports before issuance and highlight any delays or issues.
- Attend site, project, engineering, planning and handover meetings.
- Issue daily reports to the Project Manager.
- Produce weekly safety statistics and labour projections.
- Hold weekly commercial meetings to capture variations and issue costs to the client.
- Develop and implement company procedures with Project Managers.
- Handle change management correctly for cost and programme.
- Review drawings and setting‑out details.
- Produce construction works drawings for services.
- Distribute and close out CSA snags.
- Perform all other duties associated with this role.
Essential Criteria
- 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Experience working with electrical/mechanical contractors.
- Proven track record of coordinating and managing projects.
- Trade qualification.
- Competent computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
- Fluent English.
- Flexible to travel.
