Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Senior EHS Advisor in Helsinki to lead compliance with Finnish health, safety and environmental standards on major data centre construction projects. You will coordinate safety plans, audits, and reporting with project management and subcontractors.

The role requires 5+ years in large construction sites, knowledge of Finnish legislation, strong communication, and the ability to work independently or in a team; on-site safety leadership and documentation are central.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety as per Finnish legislation.
• Experience in Data Centre Construction.
• 5+ years’ experience managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
• Thorough knowledge of current Finnish environmental, health and safety legislation.
• Experience communicating with the Municipality regarding Finnish legislation.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to the project & Mercury Engineering Safety Management system.
• Adherence to relevant Environmental, Health & Safety statutory provisions & legislation.
• Assist with onboarding of Mercury employees & Subcontractors as per Finnish Legislation – ensuring all documentation is in place.
• Act as point of contact on site for coordination with local Municipality.
• Carry out regular site audits and inspection, document results and follow up on corrective actions.
• Liaison with site Project Management on environmental, health & safety issues.
