Job summary

Verda is building a European AI cloud and seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to power its cloud platform. You’ll design, implement, and evolve core backend services including APIs, auth, billing, and analytics, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem (NestJS/Express).
• Experience designing scalable backend architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL databases, and scalable data modeling.
• Experience building secure, production-grade services with comprehensive testing strategies.
• Experience making architectural decisions and balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to independently own complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve backend services across Verda's cloud platform, working on resource provisioning, authentication, billing, analytics, and platform APIs.
• Collaborate closely with Platform Engineering, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to design scalable services and APIs that automate infrastructure management and improve platform reliability.
• Contribute to system architecture, technical design, and engineering best practices, helping build software that is secure, maintainable, and resilient.
• Improve deployment workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and development practices that enable fast and reliable software delivery.
• Mentor other engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing while contributing to a collaborative engineering culture.
