Job summary

Verda is building a European AI cloud and seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to power its cloud platform. You’ll design, implement, and evolve core backend services including APIs, auth, billing, and analytics, ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript and the Node.js ecosystem (NestJS/Express).
• Experience designing scalable backend architectures, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SQL databases, and scalable data modeling.
• Experience building secure, production-grade services with comprehensive testing strategies.
• Experience making architectural decisions and balancing scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and ability to independently own complex technical problems.

Responsibilities

About the role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you'll build the core services that power Verda's cloud platform.

From customer-facing APIs to resource provisioning, identity management, billing, and analytics, you'll design and develop the systems that enable customers to consume AI infrastructure at scale. You'll work closely with Platform Engineering, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to build secure, scalable, and reliable backend services that sit at the heart of our platform.

Beyond writing code, you'll help shape architecture, influence engineering practices, and drive technical decisions that improve the platform as it grows.

Your responsibilities

Your key competencies

• 5+ years of experience building production backend systems
