Job summary

Mercor is seeking PDF annotation and transcription experts fluent in Korean for contract work. You will locate Korean PDFs with multimodal elements, annotate page regions, assign types and reading orders, and transcribe Hangul text exactly. You will also record metadata and relationships while ensuring high accuracy.

Work is remote, with end-to-end review by a second Korean expert. This role requires native Korean proficiency, experience in bilingual transcription, and meticulous taxonomy

Qualifications

• Native Korean speaker with full command of Hangul, including hanja.
• Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, editorial work, or AI training data.
• Exact character-level accuracy in transcription tasks.
• Systematic application of taxonomy across pages.
• Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Responsibilities

• Source documents by finding publicly accessible Korean PDFs with multimodal elements.
• Annotate structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region and assigning component types and indices.
• Record relationships by linking regions to parent components like figures or tables.
• Transcribe faithfully by reproducing Hangul text exactly, flagging illegible regions.
• Capture page metadata including language, type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
