Qualifications

• Native Japanese speaker with full command of kanji, hiragana and katakana.
• Furigana handling and variant character forms are required.
• Experience in interpretation, journalism, transcription, translation, editorial work, or comparable document-heavy tasks.

Responsibilities

• Annotate and structure pages, identifying regions such as titles, headings, paragraphs, tables, figures, and captions.
• Transcribe text faithfully, preserving original script and noting illegible regions.
• Record page metadata and ensure reading order reflects vertical and multi-column layouts.
• Review colleagues’ work as part of a two-expert annotation process.
