Job summary

Mercor is seeking native Korean annotators to build training data for Korean documents, including handwriting, multi-column layouts, and diagrams. You will ensure precise transcription and structural annotation across diverse document types, contributing to AI model training.

Applicants should be fluent in Hangul, with experience in bilingual transcription or editorial work preferred. Attention to detail and systematic work habits are essential for passing peer reviews.

Qualifications

• You are a native Korean speaker with full command of Hangul.
• Experience in bilingual transcription, translation, editorial work, or AI training data is preferred.
• Character-level accuracy matters more here than speed; a single wrong jamo is a defect.
• You are systematic and apply a taxonomy consistently across hundreds of pages.
• You are comfortable with unfamiliar layouts: multi-column newspapers, exam papers, handwritten forms.

Responsibilities

• Open and check a task: ensure page is Korean, legible, has real content, and no personal details.
• Annotate structure: bound every meaningful region and assign type and reading order.
• Record relationships: link regions to parent components correctly.
• Transcribe faithfully: reproduce Hangul exactly as it appears, flag unreadable regions.
• Capture page metadata: language, document type, source, dimensions, and flags for tables/form handwriting.
• Review a colleague's work: undergo second-expert review to ensure quality.
