Job summary

TSL GmbH, a leading engineering and construction partner, seeks a Project Quality Partner in Finland to implement robust quality systems and ensure Right First Time on projects.

You will lead inspections, audits, supplier quality, and documentation, aligning with ISO9001 and driving continuous improvement across teams and sites.

This role emphasizes collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, and clients to meet expectations and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with relevant industry standards, building codes and regulations; stay updated on changes.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance processes to prevent defects and ensure compliance.
  • Create and evaluate robust inspection and test plans, sign-offs and hold points across projects.
  • Continuously assess and improve construction processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, tests and audits; report to management.
  • Manage supplier and contractor quality plans and relationships to ensure material quality.
  • Deliver training to project teams to raise awareness of quality standards.
  • Identify and mitigate quality-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support client and stakeholder satisfaction by addressing quality concerns on time.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensure proper handover of completed projects.

Role Purpose

The Project Quality Partner plays a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects. Their primary purpose is to provide essential structure and assistance in implementing robust quality systems, quality assurance operational procedures, and a suite of tools necessary for adherence to ISO9001 certification and meeting client expectations. Through a commitment to the "Right First Time" principle, they contribute significantly to eliminating errors in project delivery.


Team Summary

The Quality Function serves a critical purpose by overseeing and managing the quality aspects of our construction projects. Its primary goal is to ensure compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulations, thereby fostering a culture of quality assurance and control. Through the implementation of rigorous processes, the department aims to prevent defects and errors throughout the project lifecycle. This involves regular inspections, audits, and the continuous improvement of construction processes.


The Quality Function also plays a pivotal role in managing relationships with suppliers and contractors, approving quality plans, and addressing any concerns related to materials or workmanship. By maintaining comprehensive documentation, providing regular reports to stakeholders, and facilitating training programs, the department enhances awareness and commitment to quality standards among project teams. Additionally, it contributes to risk management, identifies, and addresses quality-related risks, and ensures that completed projects meet or exceed client expectations.


Ultimately, the Quality Function fosters a culture of continuous improvement, contributing to the overall success and quality compliance of construction projects from inception to completion.


Main Duties and Responsibilities


  • Compliance with Standards and Regulations: Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant industry standards, building codes, and government regulations. Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards to ensure ongoing compliance.

  • Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance processes and procedures to prevent defects and errors in construction projects. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify adherence to established quality standards.

  • Quality Control: Support the creation and evaluation of quality control measures aimed at verifying compliance and detecting and rectifying construction defects. This involves the developing and implementing robust Inspection & Test Plan, Quality Sign-Off, and Quality Hold Points, with a focus on overseeing the execution of the inspection process.

  • Process Improvement: Continuously assess and improve construction processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Propose and implement improvements based on lessons learned.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality-related activities, including inspections, tests, and audits. Provide regular reports to management and stakeholders on the status of quality in ongoing projects.

  • Supplier and Contractor Quality Management: Establish and manage relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure the quality of materials and workmanship. Review and approve supplier and contractor quality plans.

  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the awareness of quality standards among project teams and contractors. Ensure that all project team members are knowledgeable about and committed to quality requirements.

  • Risk Management: Identify and assess quality-related risks in construction projects. Develop strategies to mitigate and manage quality risks throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Client and Stakeholder Satisfaction: Ensure that the final deliverables meet or exceed client expectations. Address and resolve any quality concerns raised by clients during or after project completion.

  • Continuous Improvement Culture: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the organization, encouraging all team members to contribute to enhancing quality processes.

  • Handover and Completion: Facilitate the handover of completed projects by ensuring that all quality-related documentation and deliverables are in order.
