We are looking for someone who combines genuine quality expertise with a strong technical or engineering understanding and who is comfortable working closely with engineering teams, customers and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Duties

Assume primary ownership of quality issues, leading cross-functional teams using structured methodologies (8D, A3) to implement root-cause corrective actions across products and processes. Plan, coordinate, and execute technical analyses across internal laboratories, customer sites, and supplier facilities. Author and present detailed technical root-cause reports and corrective action plans to global sales offices and external clients.

Participate in customer site visits, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), First Article Inspection (FAI), Factory Witness Testing (FWT), and customer quality audits. Capture and embed the "Voice of Customer" across internal operations, ensuring compliance with customer-specific quality requirements. Monitor project quality metrics to maximize customer satisfaction while maintaining strict zero-safety-issue standards.

  • Proactive Quality, Coaching & Continuous Improvement Prevent recurring issues by addressing root causes and embedding lessons learned across engineering, plant operations, and sales channels. Mentor and coach plant and R&D teams in quality tools and frameworks, including 8D Problem Solving, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement (CIP), and Quality Audits.

Key Interfaces & Metrics

  • Key Stakeholders: External Customers, Country Sales Offices, Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing Plants, and Global Suppliers.

  • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Customer Satisfaction Index, Response Lead Time, 8D/A3 Report Quality, Failure & Warranty Rates, and Cost of Non-Conformance (CONC).

Your Profile

  • Education: Successfully completed degree (B.Sc. or higher) in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or similar) or a comparable technical/business qualification.

  • Professional Experience: Extensive (>10 years) relevant professional experience in quality engineering / quality management within an international industrial environment.

    • Language Skills: Business fluent in written and spoken Finnish and English.

What Will Make You Successful

We are looking for more than a general people manager. You should bring genuine quality expertise and be able to provide a strong professional quality perspective when collaborating with experienced technical teams. You do not need to be the deepest engineering expert in the organisation, but you should be able to understand technical discussions, ask the right questions and translate complex issues into structured quality actions.

  • You will likely enjoy this role if you: See quality as a professional expertise and not simply a support function.

  • Enjoy developing people and raising the maturity of a quality organisation.

  • Are analytical and systematic when solving complex problems.

  • Combine customer orientation with technical credibility.

  • Know how to transform lessons learned into sustainable improvements.

  • Are comfortable constructively challenging existing ways of working.
