Job summary

Eaton is seeking a Project Engineer in Vantaa, Finland to plan, design, and execute electrical and testing systems for our factory environments. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, and resources, acting as the technical driver through design, installation, commissioning, and handover.

You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners, ensuring compliance with safety standards and delivering high-quality results in a dynamic, global setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Several years' experience in electrical engineering, testing systems or industrial projects.
• Solid knowledge of electrical design and safety standards.

This role combines hands-on engineering design with project management responsibilities, ensuring that new systems and equipment are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.As a Project Engineer, you will act as a technical driver throughout the project lifecycle, from initial concept and design through installation, commissioning, and handover to operations.Key Responsibilities:Electrical & Testing System DesignDesign electrical systems, schematics, layouts, and system architectures for project and testing needs.Develop and review technical specifications for electrical and test equipment, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and safety requirements.Evaluate and select suitable technologies and solutions to meet project and testing objectives.Perform technical calculations relevant to electrical design, including sizing, load, and safety calculations as needed.Project Management & ExecutionPlan and manage assigned projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource needs.Coordinate with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to specification.Identify project risks and implement mitigation actions to keep projects on track.Track project costs and progress, and provide status updates to management.Commissioning, Validation & Technical SupportSupport the commissioning and validation of new electrical and test systems, including hands-on troubleshooting.Provide technical guidance to project teams and production during installation, start-up, and handover phases.Resolve technical issues arising during project execution and testing to minimize downtime and delays.Documentation & CollaborationCreate and maintain technical documentation, including electrical drawings, specifications, test plans, and commissioning reports.Collaborate closely with engineering, production, quality, and external partners to align on technical requirements.Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and working methods within the team.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related technical fieldYou have gained at least few years of professional experience in electrical engineering, testing systems, or industrial project work and are eager to continue developing your expertise.Skills:Solid understanding of electrical systems, test equipment, and related technologies used in an industrial or manufacturing environment.Familiarity with electrical design and safety standards is expected.The ability to build effective relationships and communicate successfully with diverse stakeholders across the organizationGood organizational ability and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.A collaborative mindset, eagerness to learn, and a continuous improvement mentality, with the flexibility to embrace new ways of working and develop new skills.Finnish and English language skills are essential for effective collaboration with local stakeholders and business partners.#LI-LM1What we can offer to you:Contract in fast growing global companyChallenging projects in dynamic collaborative teamGreat promotional opportunities - We encourage internal promotion, whenever possibleExcellent working environment - safety and ethic are really important for usAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
