Job summary

Eaton’s new campus in Vantaa, Finland, hosts its Critical Power Solutions HQ. We are seeking a Senior Firmware Test Engineer to ensure quality and reliability of MVSST embedded firmware with automated tests and CI/CD support.

You will design, develop, and maintain tests, analyze results, and collaborate across firmware, system, and hardware teams in a high‑voltage lab environment. Fluent English required.

Qualifications

• University degree required in software/electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience in firmware test design for embedded systems.
• Experience with Robot Framework and Python preferred.

The role focuses on developing and maintaining firmware test automation, executing system‑level verification, and supporting CI/CD testing in close collaboration with firmware, system, and hardware teams.Design, develop, and maintain automated firmware tests for MVSST product lines.Contribute to firmware test planning, including creation and execution of structured test plans for product features.Implement test solutions to verify system, power, and product requirements based on defined test strategies.Execute firmware testing activities and contribute technical input to functional and design reviews throughout the development lifecycle.Implement and maintain firmware tests as part of CI/CD pipelines to support continuous testing and early defect detection.Analyze test results, investigate failures, and perform root cause analysis together with firmware and system engineers.Document test implementations, results, and releases in accordance with company quality and compliance processes.Act as a subject‑matter expert in firmware testing within the project team, supporting day‑to‑day technical discussions and decisions.Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices by applying modern embedded software testing tools and methodologies.Qualifications:University degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldStrong relevant industry experienceSkills:Strong hands‑on experience in firmware test design and test infrastructure development for complex embedded systems.Hands‑on experience developing automated test solutions using frameworks such as Robot Framework and Python.Experience applying test‑driven development or similar quality‑focused development approaches.Solid knowledge of version control systems (Git).Experience implementing automated tests as part of CI/CD pipelines.Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills for embedded and system‑level issues.Experience with embedded software development or testing using C/C++ and Python.Practical experience using laboratory equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, multimeters).Ability to work safely in a high‑voltage laboratory environment.Experience working in Agile development environments (e.g. Scrum).Self‑driven, detail‑oriented team player with strong collaboration and communication skills.Fluent written and spoken EnglishWhat we can offer to you:Contract in fast growing global companyChallenging projects in dynamic collaborative teamGreat promotional opportunities - We encourage internal promotion, whenever possibleExcellent working environment - safety and ethic are really important for us#LI-KK2All positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
