Job summary

ICEYE is seeking a Senior/Staff Platform Observability Engineer in Espoo, Finland, working in a hybrid setup. You will own a production-grade observability stack spanning metrics, logs and traces, and help product teams diagnose incidents quickly while reducing noise.

You’ll define instrumentation standards, ensure reliable alerting, and guide cross-team adoption of OpenTelemetry. This role emphasizes long-term platform leadership and cost-aware scalability.

Qualifications

• Over 6 years in platform engineering, observability or infra with end-to-end ownership of a production stack.
• OpenTelemetry adoption and distributed tracing across multi-team systems.
• SLO/SLI dashboards and alerting to surface problems early while reducing noise.
• Platform as a product mindset serving other engineering teams with clear interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve a unified observability stack across metrics, logs and traces.
• Tune alerts against SLOs/SLIs to reduce noise while catching real issues.
• Define instrumentation standards including metric naming, logging and tracing.
• Provide dashboards, runbooks and guidance to help product teams diagnose incidents.
• Own the observability platform roadmap, reliability and cost considerations.
