Job summary

ICEYE in Espoo, Finland seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Telemetry) to own telemetry data pipelines and time-series stores, enabling near real-time satellite data for fleet operations.

You will build and operate telemetry systems, drive production-grade infrastructure, and collaborate across multicountry teams in a hybrid role. Strong Python and PostgreSQL skills are required, with experience in Kubernetes, Docker, and AI tooling to advance the mission.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python in production backends; Go or Rust a plus.
• Experience building telemetry systems, data pipelines, and distributed systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and time-series DBs (InfluxDB/Prometheus).
• Hands-on with Kubernetes-native environments, Docker, and IaC tools like Terraform and Helm.
• Actively uses AI/LLM tooling in engineering workflow.
• AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop telemetry pipelines ingesting, transforming, and storing satellite data in near real-time.
• Maintain performant telemetry data stores with schema design and migrations.
• Implement anomaly detection and automated recovery to reduce ops load.
• Deliver TTC gateway telemetry integration as a production-grade component.
• Contribute to engineering quality via code reviews and testing standards.
