Job summary

ICEYE in Espoo, Finland, is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for Tactical Access. You will own backend systems enabling satellite tasking through API and web interfaces, making design and reliability decisions customers depend on.

The role requires production Go backend experience, API lifecycle ownership, cloud and container tooling, and strong focus on observability, security, and data workflows.

Qualifications

• Production backend engineering experience in Go (or similar) building and operating APIs in production.
• API design and lifecycle ownership: versioning, backwards compatibility, and customer impact.
• Cloud (AWS) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform); on‑prem awareness a plus.
• Data and messaging: PostgreSQL, NATS.
• Observability: dashboards/alerts with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
• Testing, documentation and code review as core practices.
• Security and quality best practices in production, customer-facing systems.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (Cursor, Devin, or similar).
• Familiarity with OAuth/OpenID Connect/JWT and geospatial data (PostGIS, GeoJSON).
