Do you want to help shape the interiors of world-class passenger vessels, modern ice breakers and polar expedition ships? At Helsinki Shipyard, we specialize in tailor‑made, high‑class passenger vessels and icebreakers designed and built right here in the heart of Helsinki.
Our history dates back to 1865, and since November 2023, we’ve been part of the Canadian Davie Group, further strengthening our role in global shipbuilding.
We’re always looking for motivated and skilled Engineers or Architects to join our Interior Design team. If you’re interested in future opportunities within the department, we warmly welcome your open application!
The Interior Design department is responsible for creating and coordinating everything related to the onboard spaces — from furniture and materials to functional systems like galley equipment, insulation, walls, ceilings, floors, windows, doors, and elevators. We focus on passenger cabins, public areas, crew spaces, and office environments.
Depending on the project type, you might work directly with the client’s architect (in passenger vessels) or take a more hands‑on design role (in icebreakers and highly technical vessels). Either way, your work directly impacts the experience of those onboard.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary design organization of ~120 people, and a wider shipyard community of ~400 professionals.
Depending on your background and interests, your future responsibilities might include:
