Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Medior Field Service Engineer to deliver hands-on IT support across client locations in the Netherlands. This onsite role requires strong hardware/software troubleshooting, MACDs execution, and deskside service coverage.

You will configure BIOS/OS, handle VPN and encryption tools, support AV/VC systems, coordinate with vendors, and ensure detailed ticketing. Onboarding and device provisioning duties are included, with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in field service engineering or deskside IT support.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS and common enterprise apps (Office 365, Adobe CC).
• Experience with BIOS, OS deployment, VPN, encryption, and asset management.
• Familiarity with ITIL-based service management and ticketing systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of hardware and software incidents for end users.
• Execute MACDs, hardware installations, server/storage reboots, power cycles, and post-deployment validation.
• Provide deskside support including device provisioning, driver issues, OS support, and software troubleshooting.
• Support AV/VC environments, including endpoints, meeting room panels, telepresence systems, and live events.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and client support teams, and manage AV installation projects.
• Configure BIOS, OS settings, drivers, core apps, encryption, VPN, and access management per policy.
• Deploy end-user device software patches and hardware upgrades in line with compliance policies.
• Decommission end-user equipment and restore work areas after service completion.
• Assist with onboarding, provide hot-swap devices, support data backups/restores, and obtain sign-off.
• Ensure tickets contain sufficient detail and escalate as needed with approvals.
