Job summary

Thomas Thor is seeking a Systems Engineering Lead to guide design reviews and ensure traceability from requirements through to evidence. This hands-on role has no direct reports but influences across all engineering disciplines within a Finnish SMR project.

Based in Finland with flexible hybrid and remote options, the candidate will oversee verification activities and drive corrective actions while communicating across teams in fluent English. Security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in system engineering/safety engineering within the nuclear industry.
• Experience with plant design, system architecture/integration, or safety-classified systems.
• Strong grounding in requirements management and design verification methodologies.
• Confident communicator, coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate design reviews at system and plant level, including architecture, integration and interface assessments.
• Review engineering documentation for verifiability and testability.
• Plan and oversee verification activities across the project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning.
• Manage non-conformities, driving root cause analysis and corrective action.
