Job summary

Helen Ydinvoima Oy in Helsinki is seeking a Nuclear Safety Manager to lead the plant's safety assessments across design, implementation and operation. You will plan and guide safety analyses, coordinate experts, and ensure safety factors are integrated throughout the life cycle.

The role requires deep nuclear power experience, strong people leadership, excellent stakeholder communication in Finnish and English, and the ability to operate within regulatory interfaces and tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of broad experience in the nuclear power industry.
• Experience in safety analyses or preparation of safety cases, preferably in projects.
• Ability to design an operating method for safety assessment throughout the plant life cycle.
• Strong people management skills.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience operating in regulatory interfaces and fluency in Finnish and English.

Join Helen Ydinvoima Oy and our advanced nuclear energy program as a Nuclear Safety Manager. The location of the position is Helsinki, Finland.

The Nuclear Safety Manager is a demanding position in which you are responsible for leading the plant's safety assessments and analyses throughout the plant's design, implementation, and operation. You plan and lead safety assessments, guide experts, and ensure that safety factors are consistently taken into account throughout the plant and its development. Areas of responsibility include nuclear safety, security arrangements, nuclear material control, and industrial safety.

We are looking for an experienced safety professional with over 10 years of broad experience in the nuclear power industry, for example in safety analyses or the preparation of safety cases, preferably in projects. You must have the ability to design and build the license holder's appropriate operating method for safety assessment throughout the plant's life cycle. The position requires strong people management and the ability to solve complex technical issues under schedule pressure with experts. You communicate fluently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and operate naturally in authority interfaces. Fluent proficiency in Finnish and English is essential.
