Job summary

Fortum in Espoo is seeking a Senior Manager for Site Portfolio & Investments to develop and manage a Nordic data center site portfolio from origination to shovel-ready handover, deploying development capital in stages to maximize value created per euro invested.

The role leads capital allocation, land acquisitions, option exercises, and decides on sale, lease, JV, or power-only routes, with investment cases and portfolio valuation, reporting and KPI governance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure, real estate, energy or data center investments, acquisitions, M&A, or portfolio management.
• Proven track record valuing development-stage assets and advancing investment decisions through governance.
• Strong expertise in DCF modelling, asset appraisal, scenario & sensitivity analysis, and ROIC assessments.
• Understanding of data center economics, powered land, and power markets.
• Excellent English language skills; Finnish or Swedish is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio strategy and allocate capital to maximize risk-adjusted value.
• Lead land acquisitions, site options and transactions from valuation to approval.
• Own site investment cases and evaluate sale, lease, JV, and power-only routes.
• Prepare investment cases for acquisitions, site commitments, and development investments.
• Own portfolio valuation, reporting, and value creation KPIs.
• Manage a long-term portfolio with 3–5 year horizons.
• Develop scalable valuation frameworks, business cases, and JV structures.
• Lead portfolio analysis and support JV governance.
• Collaborate with development, commercial, legal and other stakeholders.
• Present recommendations to executive management, Investment Committee and the Board.
• Recommend discontinuing sites that do not meet return requirements.
