Job summary

EverHire seeks a Design Manager to lead design from post-concept through detailed design and delivery on large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects in Finland. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, own the BIM process, and drive design reviews to ensure compliant and timely delivery.

You will lead and develop the design team, shape standards, and oversee design deliveries while coordinating with Project Directors and the delivery team. Fluency in English is expected.

EverHire is now looking for a Design Manager for an international engineering and construction company working on large-scale, technically complex projects. The role sits in the company's design team and focuses on data centre and mission-critical projects in Finland. This is a permanent, office-based position with a competitive salary, and the start is as soon as possible.

About the role

As Design Manager, you will lead design from post-concept design through detailed design and delivery on large-scale data centre and mission-critical projects. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers, specialist consultants and subcontractors to make sure the design is fully integrated, compliant and delivered on time. You will own the BIM process, lead design reviews and clash detection workshops, and work closely with Project Directors and the wider delivery team. You will also lead and develop the design team and help shape design standards and ways of working.

Your main responsibilities

• Lead and manage design from post-concept design through delivery
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams, including architects, engineers, specialist consultants and subcontractors
• Manage design deliverables and make sure documentation is fully coordinated
• Make sure the design complies with relevant codes, standards, regulations and authority requirements
• Organise and chair design workshops and multidisciplinary design reviews
• Take responsibility for the BIM process, review Revit models and coordinate Revit/CAD production
• Lead weekly clash detection workshops and develop solutions
• Maintain design trackers, RFI trackers and detailed design delivery programmes
• Manage external architects and specialist consultants, and support tendering and contracts for design services
• Prepare and issue change controls, and make sure deliverables meet contractual obligations and project scope
• Lead, coach and develop the design team, and make sure resources match project needs
• Drive continuous improvement, design standards and knowledge sharing

We think you have:

• 5-8 years' experience in design management, architectural project leadership or multidisciplinary design coordination
• Experience from large-scale, complex construction projects
• Experience taking projects from post-concept design through detailed design and delivery
• Strong experience managing consultants, design deliverables and authority processes
• Experience from data centre or mission-critical projects, which is highly relevant (pharma, advanced manufacturing or other technically complex projects are also of interest)
• Strong leadership, communication and reporting skills, along with experience coaching others

Qualifications

• A degree in architecture, civil engineering or a comparable technical discipline
• Experience with BIM management, Revit, CAD and clash detection
• Experience with RFI management, change control and design delivery programmes
• Good knowledge of building regulations and compliance
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Merits: a professional architectural/engineering licence or registration, BIM/Revit qualifications, and knowledge of European construction standards
