Job summary

TM Green Group is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead the mechanical and electrical design for a major data centre project in Vantaa, Finland. You will coordinate design teams, consultants, subcontractors, and BIM models to ensure delivery in line with programme and client requirements.

You will oversee interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA, BIM and construction teams, resolve clashes, and provide regular progress updates to the project leadership.

• Degree or qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Building Services.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the MEP design process from design through construction and project completion.

• Ensure MEP design deliverables are produced in line with the project programme and construction requirements.

We are working with a leading international construction and engineering business delivering major projects across the data centre, logistics, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

They are looking for an experienced MEP Design Manager to join the team on a major data centre project in Vantaa, Finland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced MEP, Building Services or Design professional to take responsibility for the coordination and management of complex mechanical and electrical design packages on a technically demanding project.

The Role

As MEP Design Manager, you will manage and coordinate the mechanical and electrical design process, working closely with consultants, specialist subcontractors, suppliers, construction teams and the client.

You will be responsible for ensuring MEP designs are coordinated, technically compliant, buildable and delivered in line with the project programme.

The role will involve overseeing the interface between mechanical, electrical, CSA, BIM and construction teams, identifying design clashes and technical issues before they impact delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the MEP design process from design development through construction and project completion.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical design packages across consultants, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
• Review MEP drawings, technical submissions, specifications, shop drawings and design documentation.
• Ensure MEP design deliverables are produced in line with the project programme and construction requirements.
• Lead MEP design coordination meetings, technical reviews and workshops.
• Coordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA, architectural and structural packages.
• Identify and resolve design clashes, technical issues and buildability challenges.
• Work closely with BIM teams to ensure effective coordination of MEP services within the federated model.
• Monitor MEP design progress against key project milestones.
• Manage design changes and ensure appropriate design control procedures are followed.
• Support construction teams with technical queries and coordinated design information.
• Work closely with MEP subcontractors throughout procurement, installation and commissioning stages.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, technical standards, project specifications and client requirements.
• Carry out site reviews to ensure MEP installations are being delivered in accordance with approved design information.
• Support the production of as-built information, commissioning documentation and project handover requirements.
• Provide regular MEP design progress updates to the wider project leadership team.

About You

• Previous experience within MEP Design Management, Building Services Design, MEP Coordination or a similar role.
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.
• Experience coordinating multiple MEP disciplines on complex construction projects.
• Strong understanding of the interfaces between MEP, CSA, BIM and construction teams.
• Experience reviewing technical drawings, specifications, models and subcontractor design information.
• Good understanding of BIM and digital coordination processes.
• Experience working within a design-and-build or main contractor environment would be beneficial.
• Previous experience on data centres, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, logistics or other technically complex projects would be highly advantageous.
• Degree or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
