Job summary

TSL is seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to lead design deliverables, coordinate with clients, specialist designers, sub-contractors and the project team to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong BIM and CAD knowledge, site inspection, and design coordination, with English and German language skills and a working permit for Finland.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in MEP or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional experience in MEP design coordination/approval.
• Strong knowledge of materials and products.
• Good understanding of fire protection, building physics and spatial imagination.
• Fluent in English and German; work permit for Finland required.

Responsibilities

• Management of MEP design deliverables in accordance with requirements.
• Coordinate MEP design matters among Client, designers, sub-contractors and team.
• Manage milestones for design quality, coordination, and QA.
• Lead design meetings with clients, consultants and sub-contractors.
• Oversee design handover and provide design information for construction.
• Support BIM coordination and review construction drawings and submittals.
• Report weekly/monthly design status.

Main Duties and Responsibilities for the MEP Design Manager:

• Management of MEP design deliverables in accordance with construction requirements and Client’s requirements
• Coordination of all MEP design matters between the key project stakeholders – Client, specialist designers, sub-contractors and Project Team
• Management of key milestone deliverables for completion in relation to quality of design, implementation and coordination of design changes including Quality Assurance in accordance with the design consultants’ contracted scope of services
• Design meetings with clients, consultants, and sub-contractors
• Design Handover of MEP design packages to MEP project team
• Communication and support for project Team in terms of all necessary design information for construction
• Support BIM Team in terms of BIM Coordination process
• Review and control of the construction drawings, shop drawings and technical submittals
• Management of As-built design Package with project Team
• Quality control during construction via site visit
• Report the weekly/monthly design status

Skills and Experience Required for the for the MEP Design Manager:

• Completed studies in MEP or a comparable qualification. In addition, several years of professional experience in one of the aforementioned areas.
• Sound knowledge of materials and products
• Several experiences of MEP design coordination/approval, site inspection and commissioning processes
• Good understanding in the field of fire protection and building physics as well as a good spatial imagination.
• Good knowledge in the use of BIM and CAD programs as well as in the field of digital management
• Solution-oriented thinking, negotiating skills as well as a good feel for people and issues and strong communication skills.
• Safe application of building standards and guidelines.
• English and German speaking required
• Work permit for FInland required
