Job summary

Metso Corporation seeks a Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our Delivery Engineering team in Espoo, Finland. The role offers a pathway to Chief Engineer within a couple of years as you lead mechanical tasks on customer projects.

You will collaborate across internal and external teams, contribute to manufacturing and construction documents, and help manage cost, quality and schedules while supporting site activities and technology development.

Qualifications

• Strong delivery engineering experience, preferably in process industry.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Good cooperation, team leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Clear understanding how to implement products into projects.
• Solid understanding of Machine Safety.
• Project-oriented working methods.
• Capable of independent, proactive work.
• Proficient use of engineering tools: 2D/3D CAD, EDM & PLM.
• English communication is essential; Finnish skills are a strong asset.
• Occasional travel to customer sites globally.

• Oversee project delivery while ensuring compliance with safety standards.

We are looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to strengthen our Delivery Engineering team and to ensure successful Customer projects. Depending on your background and capabilities you can step into Chief Engineer role almost immediately, latest within the next couple of years.

The position is permanent and in the long run gives exciting career opportunities in global business with leading technologies in the market.

Location for this position is our Head Office in Espoo.

What you’ll do

• Act as a Mechanical Engineer in our Customer projects working with modern engineering tools to generate e.g. technical documents for manufacturing and construction
• Work in close co-operation with multiple internal and external colleagues and stakeholders
• Be involved in sales, procurement and technology development projects and participate and support site activities when needed
• Participate in development of working processes and practices with internal stakeholders

In Chief Engineer role you will also:

• Act as a responsible Mechanical Engineer in our Customer projects
• Lead and manage Mechanical Engineering tasks and team in projects but also participate the work at detailed level
• Be responsible for the Project’s technical documents for manufacturing and construction
• Be responsible for the cost, quality and schedule aspects of the relevant project’s engineering portion

Who you are

• Strong experience in delivery engineering, preferable in process industry
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Good co-operation, team leader and interpersonal skills
• Clear understanding how to implement products into projects
• Solid understanding of Machine Safety

• Capability to work independently and pro-actively
• Capability to use engineering tools with efficiency: 2D, 3D, EDM & PLM
• Ability to communicate in English is essential, fluent Finnish language skills are considered a strong asset
• Ability to occasionally travel and work temporarily at customer sites globally
