Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree with 7+ years experience in process automation design and delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial process control design, network architecture and MES/ERP integrations.
  • Proficient in PLC programming, SCADA, and APC systems for complex projects.
  • Experience with Rockwell/GE PLC platforms and AVEVA Citect SCADA is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration with customers, suppliers and teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering design and development, including design specifications.
  • Develop PLC & Advanced Process Control, HMI, and SCADA solutions.
  • Create machine/process design and control system architecture.
  • Enhance and maintain Metso standard product portfolio while delivering customer solutions.
  • Collaborate as part of a team of Control System Engineers.

We are currently seeking a Senior Control Systems Engineer who will be responsible for process automation design and software development related to Metso BMH Engineering for product development and customer project delivery.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Responsible in engineering design and development which will typically include preparation of design or development specifications.
  • PLC & Advance process control development, HMI, and SCADA Development
  • Preparation of machine process design architecture and control systems architecture.
  • Develop and maintain Metso standard product portfolio according to the product roadmap and develop specific solutions for our customers.
  • Work as part of a team of Control System Engineers.
WHO YOU ARE
Essential Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor of Engineering or technology in Electrical / Electronics / Electronics and telecommunication / Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent with a minimum experience of 7 years, a preferred experience of 10 years.
  • Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills are required as this role will have frequent interactions with internal / external customers, and suppliers while supporting product development and customer projects.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Have significant knowledge of industrial process control design, network architecture and MES/ERP integrations.
  • Strong proficiency in PLC programming, SCADA, and APC systems.
  • PLC development in Rockwell/GE platforms.
  • AVEVA (Citect) SCADA development.
  • Development and implementation of industrial fieldbus protocols.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting industrial controls systems and industrial instrumentation.
  • Siemens/Rockwell variable speed drive design and commissioning.
  • Bulk material handing process experience.
  • Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Control system commissioning.
Desirable Experience
  • SQL development for industrial integration.
  • PLC development in Siemens, ABB, Schneider products.
  • InTouch, Cimplicity, Factory Talk View SCADA development.
  • Designing process automation solutions for OEM equipment.
  • Project management.
  • Functional Safety.
  • ABB variable speed drive design and commissioning.
  • Plant Historians and Databases.
  • Engineers Australia membership (or eligible).
