Job summary

Vestas Wind Turbines seeks an experienced MCE Team Leader to oversee major component exchanges on onshore wind turbines in Finland. You will lead teams performing main bearing campaigns, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to Vestas procedures and project requirements.

On site you will act as the primary contact for technicians, supervisors, site management, and client representatives, providing technical guidance, coordinating crane operations, reviewing documentation, and mentoring

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Major Component Exchange (MCE) teams on Vestas wind turbines.
• Extensive hands-on experience performing main bearing exchanges.
• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Lead Technician, Supervisor, or similar leadership role.
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training (BST).
• Valid Vestas C-Level or D-Level certification.
• Valid LOTO Level 2 certification.
• Strong understanding of Vestas OEM procedures and major corrective maintenance activities.
• Experience coordinating complex lifting and heavy component replacement operations.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Fluent English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise MCE technicians during major component replacement activities on Vestas wind turbines.
• Coordinate and oversee main bearing exchange operations.
• Ensure all work complies with Vestas procedures, quality standards, and site requirements.
• Plan daily activities, allocate resources, and manage workforce productivity.
• Conduct toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, risk assessments, and safety observations.
• Ensure compliance with LOTO procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Coordinate crane operations and interface with subcontractors and site personnel.
• Monitor progress and report to Site Management and Client Representatives.
• Review and complete technical documentation and handover records.
• Support troubleshooting during component exchanges.
• Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to HSE policies.
• Mentor technicians to maintain safety and workmanship standards.
• Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures to minimise downtime.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced MCE Team Leader to oversee and coordinate major component exchange activities on Vestas wind turbines. The successful candidate will lead teams performing main bearing campaigns, ensuring all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Vestas procedures, project requirements, and industry best practices.

The MCE Team Leader will act as the primary point of contact on-site for technicians, supervisors, site management, and client representatives, providing technical guidance and ensuring the successful execution of major corrective maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise MCE technicians during major component replacement activities on Vestas wind turbines.
• Coordinate and oversee main bearing exchange operations.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Vestas OEM procedures, quality standards, and site-specific requirements.
• Plan daily activities, allocate resources, and manage workforce productivity.
• Conduct toolbox talks, pre-job briefings, risk assessments, and safety observations.
• Ensure strict compliance with Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and permit-to-work systems.
• Coordinate crane operations, lifting plans, and interface activities with subcontractors and site personnel.
• Monitor project progress and provide updates to Site Management and Client Representatives.
• Review and complete all required technical documentation, reports, quality records, and handover documentation.
• Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical challenges during component exchange activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all HSE policies and procedures.
• Mentor and support technicians to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety performance.
• Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation measures to minimise downtime and delays.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience leading Major Component Exchange (MCE) teams on Vestas wind turbines.
