Job summary

Helsinki Shipyard is seeking a Fire Extinguishing System Designer to join our Design team. You will design and procure fire extinguishing systems aboard vessels, ensuring compliance with rules and client expectations.

In this role you will develop technical documentation, evaluate suppliers, and collaborate with procurement, planning, and production teams to ensure on-time delivery. The position offers hybrid work from our Helsinki offices and opportunities to contribute to iconic polar-capable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering is required.
• Experience with fire extinguishing systems (sprinklers, water mist, foam, clean agent, CO2).
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Good command of English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Design and procure fire extinguishing systems for vessels.
• Ensure compliance with applicable rules and client specifications.
• Develop system documentation and support production and commissioning teams.
